A guest amenity that works past the lobby

Guests take a power bank to the beach, the pool or an excursion and return it at reception — or at any other OctiVault station.

Why it works for hotels & resorts

  • Removes a recurring front-desk request
  • Works across the property, not just where the sockets are
  • It can be free to your guests, depending how we set it up with you

The problem here

A resort is the one place a guest is furthest from a socket for the longest. They leave the room after breakfast and are not back until evening — beach, pool, a boat, a day trip — and the phone is doing the whole day's photographs and navigation on a single charge. The front desk absorbs this as a steady trickle of requests for a charger nobody has, followed by guests sitting in the lobby beside a wall socket because there is nowhere else to go.

Where the station goes

Reception is the obvious station and rarely the only one. The placement that earns its keep is the second: at the beach bar, the pool bar or wherever guests actually spend the afternoon, because that is where the phone dies and where a guest will not walk back to the lobby to solve it. A guest borrows at the beach and returns at reception on the way to dinner, or at any other OctiVault station in the country — the return does not have to come back to you.

What this takes from you

What it takes from you is a socket and a decision about where the station goes. OctiVault owns the hardware, installs it, maintains it and keeps it stocked with charged batteries — no capital cost, no procurement, no maintenance contract. How the charging is paid for is agreed with you rather than picked from a menu: some resorts want it free to the guest, some want it to earn, some want it simply handled, and a resort can run it one way at the beach bar and another at reception. Tell us how you want it to work and we will tell you what that takes.

Where we have done this

OctiVault has run seasons at Emaar Misr's Marassi, Palm Hills Developments' Hacienda White, Hacienda Henesh and Hacienda Red, Tatweer Misr's Almaza Bay, G Developments' Playa and Seashell.

What managers ask

Does it need a dedicated power supply?

No. A standard socket is enough — the draw is comparable to a phone charger left plugged in, not to an appliance. No electrical work, no dedicated circuit, and nothing that needs to go past your engineering team.

What does my team have to do?

Nothing operationally. Guests borrow and return by scanning the station themselves; there is no key, no deposit to take and no logbook. OctiVault handles battery swaps and any fault. The one thing worth briefing reception on is that a guest can return the unit anywhere, because that is the question they will be asked.

What if a guest checks out without returning one?

It is handled between OctiVault and the guest, not by you. Borrowing requires a saved card in the app, and a unit kept past the rental window is charged as a non-return under the terms the guest accepted. Your front desk is never in the middle of it, and there is no equipment for you to chase.
